Over the course of several months, my group and I worked together to recreate a scene from The Great Gatsby. We even had the opportunity to visit a movie studio, which helped bring our vision to life in a real and exciting way. I took on one of the main roles, playing Daisy, which made the experience even more meaningful for me.
What made this project even more special was that we were able to create our own original ending. Instead of following the traditional storyline, we came up with a unique twist called “Gatsby’s Revenge,” which allowed us to be creative and reimagine the story in our own way.
Being able to step into that character allowed me to truly live out my passion for acting. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me grow more confident in expressing myself. The entire process from planning and filming to final edits was something we all contributed to, and it showed how powerful teamwork can be.
In the end, all of our hard work paid off, and our film was recognized as one of the best. It was a beautiful experience that I’ll always remember, not just because of the recognition, but because it showed me what I’m capable of when I fully commit to something I love.
Silent Short Film
For this project, I created a silent film where I took on the role of director. I was responsible for organizing my classmates, writing the script, planning shots, filming, and editing over the course of a week. My film followed a student rushing to class, but getting distracted along the way by obstacles, a girl who catches his attention, and even a fight, ultimately causing him to be late.
This project was challenging, especially with coordinating schedules and working around classmates being absent, but it pushed me to stay organized and adapt quickly. In the end, it turned out to be a success, and I’m proud of how I was able to bring my vision to life through storytelling without dialogue.
