This project is a 3D paper model that shows the different parts of a skeletal muscle and how they are organized. The biggest part on the outside is labeled “Skeletal Muscle (Epimysium),” which represents the whole muscle covered by a layer that protects it. Inside that is the “Fascicle (Perimysium),” which is a bundle of muscle fibers wrapped in another layer. Then there is the “Muscle Fiber (Endomysium),” which shows a single muscle cell that has its own thin covering. The smallest part in the center is the “Myofibril,” which is found inside each muscle fiber and is what actually makes the muscle contract and move. This project helps students understand how muscles are built from big to small parts and how each layer plays an important role in helping muscles work.
