Rhetorical Analysis Essay Reflection

When I started writing the essay I had doubts if I was writing the essay correctly. In the beginning, I did not know what I would write, but I started writing with the mindset I would figure it out as I wrote. I thought of the feedback I had gotten on a previous essay where it said I had written more of a summary than an essay and this feels true in my first half of the essay. As time went on I felt more confident in what I was writing, and I tried to think more seriously about what Miller said to write a better essay.

My thesis in this essay was: The Crucible was written by Miller because he felt the tragedy should be properly expressed to the public. Miller uses ethos to support his evidence, as well as anecdotes to further his claim. I got the thesis point, but I honestly prefer the claim I used as my conclusion.

I got a 4 for evidence and commentary, I liked how I used certain details to add depth to my analysis. What I can do better is make the connections of details more consistently.

I did not get the sophistication point, and to ensure I get this point in the future I can change the styling of my essay a little and better express the relevance of the choices.
