Circuit Project

Simply put, we used aluminum foil, a conductor, a light, and a battery and assembled it as shown in the picture. We played around with different types of circuits and ways to assemble them during the class period.

Lantern Project

In physics, we created lanterns based off of famous people with great influence on science.

Hovercraft                                                         - Scroll to see description

To represent Newton's three Laws of Motion, we made a hovercraft. We started off with a big plank of wood in which we cut down to size. We sanded it to get the circular shape required. We then cut out a 5ft in diameter circle out of a plastic sheet. We drilled a ¼ in hole in the middle of our wood plank and then wrapped duck tape around the perimeter of the plank. To cut out the circles in the plastic sheet we used a ruler to cut out a smaller circle in the middle of the sheet. We used the circle stencil to cut out the small circles on the second largest circle. The next step we did was trace a vacuum hole and cut it out. We used a wide drill bit to do so. We assembled the plastic sheet and wood plank together using screws. We screwed the plastic sheet in by turning it upside down and having the plastic sheet on the bottom.
