How do flowers represent moments in real life? Throughout life people have different experiences growing up, both the good and the bad. Looking back on memories I loved and hated, I wanted to create artwork that could represent these different moments that I have experienced throughout my life. But also have a connection to floriography and to see how one flower could represent the feelings I have in those moments. So to do this, the pieces are arranged as if it is someone's life that is being lived. From happy beginning to growing up and eventually dying, with the emotions faced along the way.
In my investigation I experimented with concepts and emotions. I changed and figured out which emotions work best for the exact moments I wanted to recreate. These moments also changed, at the beginning they were less focused on growing up and more on connections between moments and flowers. To create these pieces, I went through a couple different mediums, including paint markers and oil pastels, which I had never used up until this point. Eventually, I realized that I could connect the pieces to myself, which guided the rest of my art and moved me towards a more familiar medium; digital.
