Emily Dickinson Poetry Score
For this assignment we created a short musical score on the Guitar to go along with "Hope" is a Thing With Feathers by Emily Dickinson. The poem compares hope to a bird. Emily does this by personifying the idea of hope and describing how it exists without effort. For example the lines, "Yet - never - in Extremity, It asked a crumb - of me," show how you don't need to return anything to the world have hope. When creating our score we used these cords because we believed they worked well together and fit the calm feeling of the poem. As well as that, we slowed down the cords in post-editing to make it more interesting.
Final Task
For our final AP Language task, I decided to analyze one of my favorite songs. I chose the song The Other Side by Conan Gray. My presentation includes context of the song, a thesis, 3 lyric sections with analysis, and the overall takeaways of the song. I enjoyed this final task and I'm proud of my work.
