For my English 1101 class, we were given freedom with our final! We able to extend and build off of any short essay we wrote during the class. I chose to extend my Quote short essay. For this short essay, we were given a random quote and instructed to build an entire story line. Using my quote, I put together as story line hat follows a dolphin who became high off of puffer fish fumes and cheats on his wife, ultimately leading to his capture. At the end, the dolphin must face his consequences.
For Anatomy & Physiology, we were tasked to display out understanding of white blood cells. White blood are key part of the immune system. I truly love science, so I wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to be creative and show my passion for science. Below, I have painted a zentangle of white blood cells. drew random and abstract lines across a large piece of paper. I continued to fill in some of the open spots with organic shapes inside to represent the characteristics of different white blood ellls.
While painting, I had to study the anatomy of each and every cell, thoroughly learning traits of each cell. For example, I have learned the neutrophils have multilobed nuclei; the more lobes, the older the cell is. I have also learned the responsibilities of different cells. B-cells are responsible for creating antibodies, and basophils release chemical like histamines the help the body rid respond to allergens. The process of basophils are an example of a positive feedback loop, helping the body combat perceived danger or stress.
To finsish the project, I created an inphographic. The illustrations on the inforpgraphic pertained to the cells as represented in my painting. The inforgrpahic prvides an understanding of each cell's role in immunity, line of defense, and abundance.
Above is the personal statement I wrote for college applications. My essay talks about hardships I never thought I would overcome, much less share pubicly. My personal statement was so rewarding to write and submit after several drafts. I am beyond proud of it and I beleive it is a wonderful represenation of who I am inside and outside of school.
I was tasked to write an essay answering the question, "Why do they write?" I chose my friend Shiloh. One of the first aspects I noticed about Shiloh, was their ability to so elegantly and poetically express themself. I wanted to learn more, so I chose to interview them for this assignment. I believe this essay is a beautiful refection of my admiration for Shiloh and carries and incredibly beautiful message.

I was assigned to make a comparison between any of the four business structures and another idea of my choosing. I created an analogy between Donald Trump and monopolies. A monopoly is a type of business structure in which one business has exclusive and possessive control over goods and services. Trump can be compared to a monopoly. Trump ostracizes those who disagree with him. A monopoly often uses advertising to suppress competition. Trump is possessive over the government, institutions, and his voters. Monopolies often drive out competition and drive up prices, leaving consumers with no further alternatives. Trump exerts his power over the government, intuitions, and his voters, much like the behavior of many monopolies.
