For our final project in AP U.S History, we were tasked with creating a collage using the BLM power fist. We were able to choose any movement we wanted. I chose the Black Power Movement, specifically those who contributed through their music. Soul, jazz, hip-hop, and funk were all music styles that powerful black musicians used to resist discrimination.
To review for the final AP exam, we made a one-pager on any unit of our choosing. I chose unit 8, period 8 (1945-1980).
We created comics according to the major events that led to the Civil War. We were asked to include crucial events and people, such as the Missouri Compromise and John Brown.
We read a comic about Henry Johnson, a black war hero. I drew my own comic of him.
To the left you can see my industrial poster. We were given a term to research. We did so in order to further our knowledge about the time period of growing industrialization. I was given the term "Tariff of 1828."
For this project, we worked in groups to create a poster that explains the steps too the American Revolution in chronological order. More than simply defining the events that led to rising tension between the colonies and Great Britain, we made connections to each event analyzing how one idea led to another. In doing so included key terms and illustrations. This project allowed me to learn beyond just the definitions of different moments in American history, but also how they made huge impacts. For example, the formation of the Sons of Liberty and the meetings between the delegates led to immense revolution against the British.
My group and I solved a math problem by creating our own equation from a scenario we were given.
We completed a factoring worksheet for our first assignment in the second semester of AP PreCalc. Instead of sitting and completing the problems alone, we collaborated with our classmates to complete the problems. We each took an expo maker and completed problems across the boards in our classroom. In the end, each problem was solved by a different person. We checked over our peers’ work and then computed the answers into a spreadsheet. With all the correct answers, the spreadsheet revealed the picture seen aside.
We completed a project where we learned more about sea level rise and regression. Using our previous knowledge from AP pre-calculus, we used charts to analyze sea level rise and regression in places such as Tybee Beach. We concluded the project by summarizing key points and presenting them in a video which can be viewed below. In addition, you can view both documents which we typed throughout the project.
