Maddox Matthews is a 12th grade student at Drew Charter School. Maddox has played the harp for five years, with a brief gap to focus on academics, and is currently a member of the Urban Youth Harp Ensemble. He enjoys the harp’s versatility—its many strings and keys allow him to explore a wide range of musical styles. Maddox was awarded a Solo & Ensemble medal, performed at the GMEA conference in Athens, GA, and recently premiered a new concerto in Spring 2025. Outside of harp, he enjoys working out, listening to music, playing video games, and shopping for clothes. After graduation, Maddox plans to attend Georgia State University for two years before transferring to Georgia Tech to study business. He hopes to eventually earn his MBA from Georgia Tech’s Scheller College of Business.
