The process of oxidation involves the reaction of a substance with oxygen in the presence of heat or light, which can lead to changes in the substance's properties, such as color or texture. When copper is exposed to heat or a flame, it can undergo a process of oxidation that causes its surface to change color. In this artwork, I used a candle flame to heat the sheet of copper, causing it to undergo oxidation and change colors. The resulting effect was very unpredictable and created interesting patterns and textures on the surface.
