In my Spanish III class, our class' main focus is learning vocabulary. Every few weeks we move on to a new topic and learn the vocabulary associated with that topic. For example, right now we are learning about different kinds of celebrations and our vocabulary consists of different holidays, types of parties, and the components of different types of parties or celebrations. Every other week we also have short classes where we can focus on parts of spanish that we are struggling with, be it reading, listening, writing, or speaking.
Most weeks we are assigned Garbanzo readings where we read about different topics in Spanish and answer comprehension questions to make sure we fully understand the material we are learning.
In this project we selected a spanish speaking country and we then researched different tourist attractions in these countries. After the research we wrote about why our country would be a good place to visit. We also wrote when the best part of the year was to go and who the kind of trip would be good for. For example, I wrote that Spain would be a good place for families with older children to visit.
In class we were asked to compare our new year's resolutions to a member of our family.
