My 10th-grade classes include Drawing and Painting, Visual Arts and Composition, Spanish III, AP World History, Personal Fitness & Health, Chemistry, Algebra II, and World Literature. My Visual Arts and Composition and Chemistry class are combined into a ChemVAS class where we combine art and chemistry.
In my World Literature class, we are creating propaganda commercials to show that we understand how to use ethos, logos, and pathos. In these commercials we have to use ethos, logos, and pathos to convince others to believe a specific trait about ourselves.
Watch commercial below.
In my AP World History Class, we used simple items from the house and outside to represent the basic necessities for starting a civilization.
My Entry: Neolithic civilizations need water sources, arable land, shelter, written language, and a type of currency or coinage. They would need to develop technology for making farming more efficient, to transport water, be that irrigation systems or sealed containers. There would also materials used in specialization of labor, so clay for pottery, dyes and inks, tools for farming, and other important tasks. In the picture, the stick represents the water source for the society. The bag of dirt represents the farming land, the rocks represent the shelters of the civilization, the rice grains represent domesticated animals. The small pasta at the top represent currency, the silver pendant is written language, the q-tips represent creative supplies and tools needed and created. The pasta on the edge represents a defence system or a wall.
While learning about lab safety in Chemistry, we designed posters for the classroom. Look at mine to the right!
In this PBL project, we are creating an Epic Story using all subjects. We are using elements from the periodic table as elements in our stories, writing a portion in Spanish, basing our settings off of Ancient Civilizations from World History, designing storyboards in Art, writing our epics in World Literature, and using elements of Geometry. Here's an image of my group's storyboard to the left.
