For the Skeleton project, the class was tasked with creating a 1/3 scale model of a human skeleton. Our project is an aluminum foil skeleton covered in paper mache. Through this project, I learned a lot about the skeletal system. I learned the various parts of the cranium, the different types of bones, the function of the bones, how bones are structured, and the axial vs appendicular parts of the skeleton. The axial skeleton consists of the skull, spinal column, ribs and sternum. The Appendicular skeleton consists of the shoulder girdle, the arm bones, the leg bones and pelvic girdle. Then, the different types of bones are long bones, short bones, flat bones, and an irregular bone. All together the skeleton was two feet tall, after being scaled by 1/3, then suspended from a wooden post.
