During this project, I think character design and plotting the story went very well. Creating the slides with all the constraints was difficult. With this, it brought time management issues among the group. We can improve by working on focusing our time more with dividing and conquering to do work on time and more effectively. But, throughout the project, I learned how to make a stop motion within google slides within this project. It can be a quick alternative to doing something complex on a program like after effects. The project was okay, not fully successful with the limited time we are given between all classes and the amount of time in addition to the effort we would have to put into making this project look reasonable within all our constraints. If I could do this project again and things were to be different, I wouldn't force all class subjects to be involved. It makes the project harder and unrealistic compared to what our main topic was. It takes away from the true message that is trying to be given with all the different concepts we have to incorporate. That’s my take away from the project.
For this textiles project, I made a basket out of recycled newspaper. It benefits the environment because instead of using new paper, which means a tree cut, I used recycled material. This relates to chemistry because of the weaving done to make it. They represent protons and electrons. My basket has a variety of different sized newspaper straws. It gives my basket a different feel of depth. I went in an over, under pattern for weaving the paper around a coffee cup to get the shape. It was difficult to wrap them around in a neat manner and I dislike how some would not follow the pattern correctly, in addition to the paper tearing. To improve I would spend more time to make it all uniform and neat. Even with all this, it was fun to learn how to make a basket this way.
In chemistry, we have been discussing the different types of bonds. These bonds include ionic, covalent, and metallic. Covalent bonding is responsible for the bonding of dyes and paints to papers, fabric, etc. My art above shows the covalent molecule caffeine . I chose to do this because I really enjoy coffee. My art includes a latte steaming of the caffeine molecules. . I created this by using water colors and colored pencils.
This is my Final Molecule Artwork. My atom was H2O (water) and my idea was to have a bucket of water pouring. Using my tinkercad water model, I was able to add it into my artwork. The molecules lay in the water to show what it is made up of. In the background and lightly in the water's details, their is a pattern of lines to give the water effect. I used the color scheme of blue to reflect fresh water and different values of it to give the water depth. Through this I definitely learned more about the app Procreate on my iPad and how to blend colors . Graphic designers and artists could use the tools and apps I used within their field.
The Colombian exchange was the exchange of goods, agriculture, animals, and disseizes between the old world (eastern hemisphere) and the new world (western hemisphere)
For the project we were assigned a hemisphere and had to bring ingredients from are designated side. This is related to the Colombian exchange because the ingredients we brought in were from the new and old world, and where the same ones being exchanged in that time period.
The project helped me understand the Colombian exchange better because it showed the benefits of the exchange when it comes to everyday cooking. It also shows the different things we could make when only in a set location.
We had made veggie stuffed peppers using pineapple, squash, bell peppers, sweet potato, corn and vanilla for our cooking assignment
This is my clay cup for my reactions project. The chemical reaction being illustrated it the clay. When the clay is fired in the kiln, 1st the chemically bonded water is released and the carbon is burned out leaving the clay in the permanently solid shape. I learned the different chemical reactions when it comes to clay, how to properly deal/handle clay, and the process of how long and how tedious it is to do pottery.
The Guernica is a piece of artwork by Picasso. He used the art style cubism for this work. For our PBL we used cubism in our art. Using a variation of blues and grays, in addition to white to replicate these effects. We cut up our artwork into sections as we painted to get this effect. Our board was to show conflicts that could cause war. The original Guernica was made to depict war times. From the fist to the flags on our work we used the colors and sections to make it stand out. The cubism style helps give each individual part a story showing the true meaning of our work.
