Black History Month - Personal Hero Project (ELA) 

During Black History Month, we were tasked with identifying someone both considered a personal hero and influential to Black History. I chose Sidney Poitier, the first African American to win an Oscar (one of the highest forms of achievement in the film industry). Below is a slideshow of my research on Sidney Poitier, his greatness involved in Black History, and his achievement in film. Why this project matters is because it allows for the mass education of black figures and super heroes. This project also succeeds in spreading representation of the Black community.
