In Human Anatomy, we learn all about the human body. We have learned about muscles, bones, the nervous system, and many other parts. One of my personal favorites to learn about was the brain. To further understand the brain, we completed a project focusing on one specific part, and had to research its function, structure, and how it is affected by injury. My group researched the Parietal lobe. Researching the Parietal Lobe helped me realize just how crucial it is in our daily lives.
This project is about raising awareness of global issues in countries in Latin America. My group chose to highlight and research problems in Puerto Rico. The problems included: No access to food, homelessness, an economic crisis, inequality and discrimination, xenophobia, censorship, and armed violence. For each global issue, we were tasked to sum up our research and give three suggestions to help address the issue. This project was a good way to learn about what others may be going through outside of the United States of America.
For this project, we learned and researched the nine types of leukocytes. For every type of leukocyte, we researched its function, its role in the immune system, and its characteristics. I enjoyed completing this project because I was able to understand the immune system and how different cells in our body work together to protect us from infection.
