A neuron can be linked to a tree to illustrate its function within the nervous system. The branches represents dendrites receive incoming signals. The dendrite spines are like the leaves, providing additional surface area for connections. The trunk of the tree is the axon which carries signals from the soma. The bark of the tree is compared to bark which insulates and protects the axon. Lastly the roots represent the axon terminals forming conmunication with other cells. This comparison helps show now the neuron works together for Function and so does a tree.

If you had to lose 1 sense, which would you give up and why?
If I had to lose 1 sense it would be the Olfactory sense because while smell enhances experiences like food and memories, it’s the least essential for day-to-day functioning compared to sight, hearing, touch, and taste. Plus, it might even be a bonus I’d never have to smell anything bad again.
