For our final in geometry we made a piece of stained-glass design that included a parallelogram, rhombus, square, rectangle and two congruent triangles. My group and I made our design together. The inspiration for my design was a churches window. We made a more modern colorful design. The three elements of art and principles of design in my stained glass were color, variety and balance. We have been learning proofs with these shapes that were included in our stained glass. Proofs are tied in with this project because proofs should verify that the shape abides by its properties using the measurements we did. We measured the length of sides, measurements of angles and lengths of diagonals of each shape that was included. When we found all of those numbers, we did proofs for each shape explaining why.Â
