Using Ethos, Pathos, and Logos we were assigned a project that has us create a commercial that decribes something about us. People normally think I am angry or irritated but normally I am just tired. So using propaganda I created a commercial that promotes my character to seem like a nice person, while explainig why some people are just tired.
In class we watched a Ted Talk. In the Ted Talk a lady named , Shondra Rhimes explains "the hum". From ted talk I learned more about " The Hum" and how it can affect us by motivating us or keep us from moving forward. In this short write I talk about what brings me joy and why it is " My Hum".
This is one of my favorite poems that we analyzed this year. This poem discuss the deuterating connection between humankind and nature. Using this poem and reading the text " Night" we connected it to the greed of humans.
Some lines from the poem that stood out to me is ,
" Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers"
In Night, They explain how Hitler used the threat of materialism to justify the actions of the Germans by saying they have Lost something because of the Jews. As humans we thirst over power and money only losing something that is fleeting. And what I learned from this text as a whole we have given away the ability to repair ourselves by being selfish.
In this project our jobs were to Create your own Utopian society, Utopian standards.
In this process we though about:
What are its laws? How are things made equal? What are the punishments for breaking the laws? Why was it created? What social or moral malady did its creation remedy?
For this activity, I had to complete a slide show/short writing assignment in which they imagine that it was Romulus who was killed, not Remus. Remus becomes the new founder of the city, and thus the founder of the subsequent kingdom, republic, and empire. Based on the stories about Remus' personality and relationship with his brother, students will imagine how Roman history would have turned out differently. Where would Remus have built his city? What would it be named? What would the values of the city be? How would this impact its government? We had to write this alternative history as if we were tour guides in this city today, explaining the events of the past to tourists.
My final project in world literature was about the power of advocacy and inspirational/motivational speaking. My friend and I had to present a topic for which they feel passionate. The topic must be one that encourages personal growth of some kind.
