What I made is a 3 layer stacked cake out of clay. The reason I made this was because I like cake, and it was for the "My Favorite Things" project. First, I rolled my clay out and used the slip to make it easier to mold. After this, I began to make the shape of my cake by starting with a rectangle-like shape. When I made the rectangle shape, I began to carve out the shapes of the layers, I also used some of the tools to help make the layers look more separated. Then, I let it dry completely and began the glazing process. First, my colors were this sheer glittery glaze and pink, but they didn't react well in the kiln and didn't come out right, so I re-glazed it in the kiln, and it came out like so. This relates to chemistry because of the chemical reaction in the kiln from the water separating from the clay and causing the color to come out the way it did. Next time, I would improve my judgment of glaze so I won't have to reglaze next time.
