“Waterfalls” - Pamela Bruner
Classically trained on piano and cello, Pamela Bruner later found the Celtic harp a perfect accompaniment to her singing voice, and it quickly became the focus of her creative life. Pamela is known around the country for her dynamic harp & voice performances, powerful workshops, and gentle, encouraging teaching. She is also a professional life coach, working with people in all walks of life to empower them in living life joyfully. I chose this piece because it was the one that stood out to me the most. I like the arpeggios and different patterns the piece offers. The learning process was simple and easy. I learned each bar/repeat and went from there.
Calypso By The Sea
I think this piece will be something beachy and calm.
The piece was very tropical and had a good vibe. It sounded like something that would be playing in Venice, Italy.
Challenges about my part: Some challenges about my part would be not changing the beat of the tapping on the harp.
“Passing” First Impressions
Before thoughts: I think the piece will be kind of upbeat and fast.
After thoughts: I really like the piece and enjoy the mood that it gives off. It sounds like a nice summer day in a field or something related to that. The piece was a lot slower than I thought it would be but I guessed right on the tone and “mood” the song gives off. Some challenges I may face is getting thrown off by other people playing because everyone is overlapping each other with their own music.
