What is art? How can other subjects be art?

Art is the way of expressing an emotion or feeling without words. Art can be expressed in many different ways. Any subject can be art. For example, whether it’s as simple as a line on a sheet of paper or as detailed as the Mona Lisa it all has a meaning. Some may like and understand it some may not but, sometimes you have to look at things in a different perspective and deeper meaning.

Borax Crystal Sculptures

What is Borax? A salt that dissolves in water a creates a generic solution.

What chemical elements or compounds are in it? The chemical elements in borax is boron, oxygen, and sodium. Borax is also known as sodium borate.

Why do you use hot water? What happens as the water cools? You use hot water to help the borax dissolve more than saturated water. Supersaturated water is what I had before I mixed in hot water. When the water cools the electrons slow down resulting into the hardening of the borax(crystals).

How is your 3D sculpture dynamic? My sculpture is dynamic because I use curved, twisted, and shaped lines.

2. Record in a video with a QR code your speech in Spanish only describing your original outfit and explaining how your clothing choices and dressing style conveys your personality and who you are orally.

3. Take a mirror photo of yourself wearing your original outfit.

4. Create a flyer including 1. your name, 2. your mirror photo, 3. your fashion designer statement and 4. the QR code of your video.

5. Cat walk and song performance on December 12 for a separate FINAL grade.

Each component listed above stands for a separate grade.
