Superman's Way Home

Video Game Design Project

In geometry, I applied transformations by designing a video game with 3 levels. After designing my video game, I turned the video game into an animation. The goal of my game was to get enough rocks for Superman so that he could combine them with krypton and recreate his home planet. In order to complete my game, translations, rotations, reflections, and dilations had to be used. It was important throughout the process that we remembered the differences for each transformation. A translation is a slide, a rotation was a turn, a reflect was a flip, and dilation was enlarging or decreasing.

STained Glass Project

In Geometry, I learned about the properties of parallelograms and used the properties to design a piece of stained glass. The inspiration for my stained glass was a deck of cards. The shapes I included in my design were rhombuses, circles, rectangles, squares, and parallelograms. I made sure that my parallelograms abided by the properties of parallelograms which are opposite sides are parallel and congruent, opposite angles are congruent, consecutive angles are supplementary, and diagonals bisect each other.

Beli Infantry-Johnson - Cookie/Tortilla Sector Area + Arc Length Activity

Sector area and Arc Length Activity

For this activity, we used cookies to understand sector area and arc length and how to solve for it. We started off by finding the circumference and area of the whole cookie. Then we cut the cookie into 4 parts and calculated the area and length with the formulas given to us. We were then able to establish the relationship to the sum of all the areas and lengths to the total area and length of the cookie. Since the parts of a circle make up one circle, the area and length of the parts of all together should always equal the total circumference and area.

Water Bottle Design

After learning about 3D shapes, we were asked to create our own water bottle using 2 of the shapes we learned about. We were given the total volume of the water bottle which was 30.5 in. We had to distribute the volume between the shapes we had used to match the total volume. We also had to come up with a name and marketing for the bottle we created.

Beli Infantry-Johnson - 🗣Final Presentation Submission

Two-way frequency PResenation

For this project, we were required to collect data from at most 60 people in our grade by giving them a survey discussing a current social issue going on in the world. Once we did, we had to make 4 different types of two-way frequency tables along with 10 questions people could answer from the tables.
