My 9th grade year was my first year cheering for Drew and I loved it! I was on JV and my team was really small. Although we were small, we had a good voice on us. Also everyone on the team was so welcoming and nice to me and I really appreciated it. After having a great first year, I decided to try out again for my tenth grade year and i made VARSITY. Tenth Grade was definitely a change for me. I was on a bigger team and we were more loud. It was a lot more to learn and a lot more games. Now its my 11th grade year, and I tried out again, I'm on VARSITY once again, and I think this year will be something good as well.
I was first put in the Fashion club as a recommendation. At the beginning, I didn't find interest in Fashion, but as we started to learn more about sewing and actually getting into it, I grew a like for it. We spent weeks on our project. We sketched out our design then brought it to life. We had to make it out of donated clothes so i decided to do jeans but which mitch match material. At first I wanted to do a jump suit but I didn't have enough material. We also got to model our clothes for our school photographer and at Atlanta City Hall once we were done with the final project. I really had fun in this Club and wish to maybe do it again my 11th grade year.
During my Freshman Year, I got inducted into Drew's BETA Club. Then during my Sophomore Year, I went to my first ever BETA Convention in Savannah. At the Convention, I participated in Living Literature, Apparel Design, and helped my friend, Sydney, run for vice president.
My Tenth Grade Year, I decided to run for Ms. 10th Grade and WON!! After I won, I was now in the SGA Club. The SGA Club was honestly a cool experience. It's a great club for students to have their own voices and chances to help plan out many different events at Drew!
