For our first essay of the year, we were tasked to write an argumentative essay about any topic of interest. I am very passionate about the enviroment, but climate change was not controversial enough. That is why I wrote my essay about the benefits of renewable energy rather than fossil fuels.
For this project, we had a week to research songs we enjoy and their meanings. Then, we applied these songs to scenes in Romeo and Juliet, explained our thought process, found/made a fitting playlist cover, and submitted it as a Google Slide mock playlist.
Since most of the work we do in class is notes, we also did a lot of Flipgrids. For example, this Flipgrid was to prepare for the STAMP, which was our final in Spanish. For this prompt, we had to speak off the top of our head, and say what we would bring on a trip to the rainforest and why.
We had to create two pages, one the front of the menu and one of the back. The front had the actual dishes, including a "special," which was an original dish we created that combined different aspects of culinary Latin American culture. The back contained an about the authors, the origins of our special, and a personal cultural culinary experience.
This was a more casual presentation where I listed everything that I learned from the different studies. We also had to write an essay concluding our final stance. This is what I came up with.
While learning about dichotomous keys, we were tasked to create our own! It could be able anything and had 10 steps, but I did 11! This is my picture of the steps
This is my picture of the cats that the person would be identifying through my key!
This was an interactuve project we had to further develop our understanding of the stages of mitosis and meiosis. The following is a picture of the prophase step that we modeled.
For this mini review, we had to fill in the blanks on characteristics of nucleic acids, and my work is shown to the right.
This was a project we worked on for a while, and it was to see how far we could get into this science-interactive simulation. I was able to get 5th place!
