How does food insecurity impact culture and identity?
For our class project, in groups of 4-5, we were asked to create unique recipes inspired by our personal cultures and design recipe cards to showcase them. My group consisted of me, Norah Dunlap, Titus Smith, Madison Morales, and Marisol Atencio. Since two people in ur group were of Latin American descent, we used churros as the main dish. Then, we all made sauces based on fruits from our collective identities. Mine was strawberries as it is the main crop in Ireland, and I am Irish.
For this project, we had to work in groups to make a place setting representing a culture connected with the Columbian Exchange. I worked with Madison Taggart and Norah Dunlap. We created a small dish composed of a tomato slice, a key export from the Americas in the Columbian Exchange, a knife to eat said tomato, and a dish featuring traditional Columbian patterns.
