For this assignment, my teacher tasked me with choosing a topic/ world crisis that was close to my heart and write an informational paper about it. I chose to write about the legalization of Marijuana and how it'd benefit minority communities exponentially. The second portion of the project was to choose an art piece and create a slideshow to accompany the research paper.
While reading the classic Their Eyes Were Watching God, we were tasked with creating some sort of art that represented each reading checkpoint. Once we completed the book we were able to produce our own interpretation of the book through art. I chose to create a google slides presentation, from the perspective of a movie director. I handpicked the cast and highlighted subtle details that would represent common themes throughout the novel.
For this project, my group and I were tasked with creating a diet to help combat common ailments. We created an entire meal plan for women who struggle with severe menstrual cramps. Although our topic was uncomfortable for many of our classmates to digest, we knew that it was an issue that millions of women struggle with. This project was paired with lessons about Macromolecules and their effects on the body in different quantities. Making these recipes and testing them on ourselves was an interesting experiment, but unique and rewarding nun-the-less.
