AP Environmental Science:
This is an online course, so I don't have much for this, but I did do a lab on population growth. We had to test out a lab where there was more water put in one bag of bread than the other and we had to wait to observe the mold growth. This project helped me connect homemade materials to real world examples. It supported me in better understanding the world's issues and come up with more solutions on how to solve them.
Economics:
We created a monthly budget for college in Economics class. We had to calculate many of our needs and prioritize wants over others. I learned further what the true meaning of a necessity is and how much being independent after High School costs you. I feel more ready to graduate after learning how to make a budget that can help me with anything I may have trouble on in the future.

The best way for families to prepare for paying for school in my income bracket is to apply for grants, scholarships, and other financial aid. Another option is to have a budget with all the money included so you can organize where money is allocated. I also suggest to apply for jobs.
AdvInst Ensemble 3:
Adv. Repertory Dance 1: We were tasked with creating a solo dance performance showcasing the dance elements and showing our stage presence. The dance below is a draft of the soon-to-be finished dance piece on stage.
The dance circulates the pains of the African-American female child dealing with mental health. Blackbird is a story of a life of skin conditions such as eczema, societal pressure, and being the child of a woman with bipolar disorder. The guiding emotions of this piece are depression, anxiety, emptiness, fear, and anger. These emotions help to mend the piece together to create a seemingly mentally, emotionally diverse child. With these correlating emotions, comes the realization of having mental dilemmas bringing it to the possibility of inheriting the same disorder.
The different elements of the dance require a wide expanse of space, fluid body, and abrupt bursts energy. I wish to challenge myself by introducing a very vulnerable part of me to the audience. The black dress conveys innocence and the boundless hair would portray unleashing and the limitless inner self. Blackbird’s mission is to awaken a deeper part of the audience. It is to come to terms with their feelings and encourage them to express them as well as relate to different parts of my story.

In AP Spanish, we listened to a podcast about beauty and ugliness and compared the idea of beauty in Spanish speaking countries to America. We were introduced to new vocabulary and different perspectives on self appearance and reflection. We had a class discussion in spanish about the podcast and the different cultures. I enjoyed this particular assignment because it was relateable to me and alot of women and men in general. There are many times where we are judged by today's standards and compared to unrealisrtic forms of beauty.
