Grades 11 and 12 are such important years. This is when priorities change and when a sense of purpose shapes itself even more strongly as months go by.  There will be dreams of universities in other countries or at home; dreams of gap years or other experiences that you might have never thought of. These years are also the last two years of secondary, a necessary rite of passage into adulthood. As a leadership team, we are here to support our students in this journey. Whether it is about their wellbeing or their academic success, we are here to ensure that these last two years give our students the confidence and the courage needed to navigate the complexities of what is to come. We wish you all the best. Enjoy!

Ana Gonçalves, Secondary School Principal

My role is to oversee the pastoral care and curricula in Grades 11 and 12. It is a very enjoyable role and I look forward to supporting the students throughout these important two years. I urge students to be ambitious and strive to do the best they can in all areas of school life: academic, social and co-curricular. Before you know it, you will be graduating, so make the most of everything that DIS offers!

Wendy Bassam-Coles, Assistant Principal, Director of Studies Grades 11 and 12

Pathways through Grades 11 and 12

DIS offers the IB’s Diploma Programme for students in Grades 11 and 12. Students taking the IB Diploma Programme also meet the requirements to gain a High School Diploma (options 3 and 4).

Students not taking the full IB Diploma will still be in the same classes but will be working towards the DIS High School Diploma, with an option of taking IB exams in some subjects (options 1 and 2).
