Archers of the Kingdom cry “Doooooole!”, for 'tis on the Doole that teams of archers shall meet and compete to set their shire above all others.
Teams shall consist of Three. One a Captain.
Teams shall represent their Captain's Shire on this day, regardless of any other loyalties. Choose your Captain well, they shall shoot to decide any dispute or tie. Shires may field as many teams as they can bring fourth, by right, by pay or indenture.
There shall be a day of shooting after which four teams shall compete to be known as the best in the land.
The best four teams shall shoot head to head in a twilight tourney on The Caldicot Doole!
Bring Archers!, Bring Banners!, Bring Noise!
Anyone is interested in joining in the shoot, either with a full team, lone team captain or a prospective team member please contact Viscount Yannick of Normandy.
Celebrating the Feast of St Stephen,
Here on this glorious field of battle Comes the Oxford Roll, Come the Shires!
Only one shire among many shall win this day. By feat of arms, by cunning and oft times skill. A Tourney that is long remembered in the minds of both warriors and kin. Many a song of the Oxford Roll, of glory and infamy at arms shall be sung around these camp fires for a hundred years! Such as the tale of the mighty Shire of Dun in Mara, where the stalwart Mícheál Breathnach won single handed against many foes, for while he watched his enemies sink into madness and murder, "he rested, with his Broadsword on his Knee...".
A melee battle where alliances are made, broken, remade and lost.
All combatants of the winning shire shall have the arms they bear this day enshrined upon the Oxford Roll for all to witness.
Bring your armies. bring your banners, make history!
