Peer-to-peer physical education

Course Overview
This course combines students of all abilities to participate in developmentally appropriate activities including lifetime leisure activities, outdoor education, physical fitness, sport and recreation. Students will work together to increase competence and confidence in a variety of physical activities. Through ongoing leadership opportunities, members of this course will be empowered to help create a more inclusive and accepting school environment for all students.

What is Peer-to-Peer PE?
Peer-to-Peer PE is a success orientated physical education program featuring trained general education students (Partners) focusing on individualized learning and instruction for students with disabilities (Classmates). 

This course can be taught by a general physical education teacher or an adapted physical education teacher. Teachers should consult with special education teachers and other specialists while administering this course. Paraprofessional support should continue to be utilized during this course.
