What is Concurrent Enrollment?
A class taken while still in high school that counts for both high school and college credit
While taking this class you will be both a student at North and at the Community College of Denver
Concurrent Enrollment courses are guaranteed to transfer to any public institution within the state of Colorado. However, while courses transfer, it is still important to determine if they will apply to your college degree or certificate
Pros and Cons of Concurrent Enrollment
Pros:
As long as you pass with a C or better you get both high school and college credit for the same class!
Saves time in college
DPS pays for the class
High School supports
Graduate high school with college credit
Can qualify student for ASCENT
Cons:
If you get a D, F, or withdraw from the class that impacts your college GPA.
This could put you on academic probation in college & potentially cause issues with your financial aid
Deadlines are firmer in a college class. Your professors have to follow the rules of the college and cannot accept late work.
