Students who just want to take a few IB courses as an IB Course Student can complete the traditional Choice of Study form.

If you or your student knows they want to pursue the IB Diploma, please contact Mrs. Morris at amorri3@dpsk12.net

Rising sophomores can also check out the Course Planning tool to get an idea of which classes might be available!

Future Commanders - Rising 9th Grade Students

Incoming 8th grade students have the opportunity to indicate their interest in becoming full IB Diploma candidates. Although this decision does not need to be finalized until the start of a student's junior year, there are some benefits to indicating your interest as an incoming freshman.

By declaring your pathway as an IB Diploma candidate, your counselor and IB Coordinator are able to assist you in planning ahead of all of your classes. This allows you to maximize your schedule and plan for the greatest amount of preparation for and success in your classes.

Current Commanders

Rising 10th and 11th grade students can also express their interest in pursuing the full IB Diploma. Speak with your counselor or complete the interest for in order to get up to date information and support in course scheduling.

Here is what current students have to say about the program and their classes:

What former students say that the IB Program did for them after high school:

"I would say, what IB really helped me with was getting a gauge of what college workload would be like. In high school, we have teachers who check in on us and make sure we’re meeting deadlines and completing what we need to. In college, there isn’t anyone to hold your hand, so you really need to come up with your own schedule and hold yourself accountable. IB provided a nice intermediary of a larger workload, but still with our teachers helping and supporting us through the process. "  Elizabeth  (JFK graduating class of 2017). studied at the University of Colorado Denver, majored in biology, and minored in psych  Currently she is attending medical school at Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

"IB helped prepare me for college, especially by building the foundational knowledge and studying habits for me. This was evident when I took chemistry, biology, and calculus courses in college. I was able to save money on courses that I already got the credits transferred from IB."
