Project - The Ancient Greeks -
In the Summer Term, children will learn about life in Ancient Greece. They will use their geographical skills to investigate maps of Greece, identifying surrounding countries and key cities.
They will learn about Greek Gods and study myths and legends through cross curricular links with English. Children will look at Greek art and try to create their own, as well as finding out about the origin of the Olympics, battles and other aspects of Ancient Greek life.
Science - Animals Including Humans
Children will learn about the human body and how organs such as the heart and lungs function. They will conduct investigations and experiments, predicting outcomes and analysing their results.
Art - Andy Goldsworthy -
In this unit of work, children will study the work of artist Andy Goldsworthy. Andy works with nature to create artwork and sculptures. Children will have opportunities to draw and create their own work, using objects gathered from the natural environment, inspired by Andy's work.
