**GCSE English and Maths November Re-sits**

There is an opportunity to sit the GCSE English and Maths exams in November for those people that have missed out on completing them last Summer, and English and Maths tutors will be introducing themselves to you and starting live delivery on Microsoft Teams very soon.

NB The deadline for letting us know about your desire to sit exams in November is 27th September.

Therfore if you are wanting to sit the exams in November but have not made this clear to a tutor or you are concerned that you may not be on the list, please email englishandmaths@dncolleges.ac.uk with the following information:

· Your name

· Your college id number

· The subjects that you would like to sit in November

· The school that you attended if you have just joined the college

· If you know it, the exam board that you sat

Obviously, working with your English and Maths tutors is the best way to be prepared so please reach out to them for support and engage fully in the online learning that is being presented to you.

What you can expect

English and Maths

English and Maths affects all aspects of our lives. When applying for a job, most employers look at your English and Maths grades as well as your vocational studies to see if you are equipped to work at that job.

If you have not yet achieved GCSE grade C/4 or above in English and Maths, your vocational programme of study will include re-taking English and Maths qualifications to enable you to progress on your chosen career pathway.

Students will be enrolled onto either GCSE or Functional Skills based on their GCSE results:

  • If your current grade is 2 or 3 you will be enrolled onto GCSE

  • If your current grade is 1 you will be enrolled onto Functional Skills at E3 Level
