Timely, high-quality data from diverse sources are used to inform improvements across the system, including schools, programs, classrooms, instruction, professional learning, and other organizational components.
Strategic Roadmap
Data gathered from assessments clearly inform teaching practices and are utilized to target specific areas for immediate instructional improvement.
Key operational data (e.g., classroom observations, student attendance, family communication) guide leadership in identifying priorities and allocating support for continuous school improvement.
Your Role...
Support Data Systems and Use: Champion appropriate uses of data and actively support technology systems that efficiently collect, store, and share information.
Ensure Consistency: Establish and maintain common metrics and reporting practices across all schools and Early Childhood Education (ECE) programs to ensure unified data.
Prioritize Relevant Data: Focus on data that directly supports shared continuous improvement goals and promotes strong instructional coherence across all B-3rd years.
Commit to Subgroup Review: Demonstrate commitment to reviewing data by subgroup (e.g., by classroom, age/level, and schoolwide) to ensure full understanding of student outcomes.
Allocate Resources with Data: Use specific student outcome data to intelligently direct and differentiate resources, ensuring appropriate levels of intervention are provided.
Inform Professional Learning: Employ data to directly guide, establish, and prioritize professional learning content for all staff.
Build Data Feedback Loops: Develop clear methods to ensure multiple metrics are used to judge teaching effectiveness and overall program success. Simultaneously, share data between Early Childhood Education (ECE) programs and the school (e.g., establishing assessment loops).
Promote Data Literacy: Ensure teachers receive training on data availability, accessibility, and proper use, and make sure to discuss instructional quality data with teachers during joint B-3 meetings.
Engage in Team Analysis: Work actively in teams to analyze student achievement data and work samples to plan future instruction, identify team professional growth needs, and pinpoint areas for skill development.
Monitor Student Progress: Utilize tools to track student progress to gain a deeper understanding of each child's individual strengths and learning requirements.
Use Data in Collaboration: Collaborate with coaches and colleagues to improve your effective application and understanding of data.
Communicate with Families: Use student data during family conferences to clearly communicate progress, and employ data analysis to ensure equitable learning opportunities for all children.
Join the Steering Committee: You can help form a B-3 leadership committee that includes educators from both school and community settings to foster cooperation and align practices across different years of instruction.
Promote Consistent Communication: You can ensure a smooth experience for children by actively using consistent terminology and clearly communicating the primary objectives of B-3 efforts.
