Use Quality Rubrics: Employ established national tools and rubrics to assess and improve the overall quality of all B-3 physical learning settings.
Resource Family Engagement: Designate space and necessary resources for families to meet with teachers and easily access materials that support their children's learning.
Support Staff Collaboration Space: Develop plans and priorities for every building to include dedicated resources (like time, opportunity, and suitable locations) that promote staff teamwork, adult learning, and shared decision-making.
Optimize Learning Spaces: Ensure both indoor and outdoor areas are available to support hands-on, project-based learning and can accommodate instruction in multi-age/grade groups.
Ensure Access: Guarantee learning environments provide appropriate space for individualized instruction and are fully accessible for both children and adults with disabilities.
Promote Effective Classroom Management: Demonstrate skill in creating and maintaining environments that support child learning, including well-managed classrooms that promote young children's self-regulation and executive functioning skills.
Support Flexible Grouping: Establish classroom settings that effectively support individual, small-group, and whole-group learning activities.
Optimize Order and Flow: Organize learning environments to ensure order, safety, and clear routines, which minimizes distractions and reduces time spent in transitions.
Increase Material Access: Increase the availability and use of a rich variety of objects and learning materials (e.g., books, math materials, technology, manipulatives) in the classrooms.
Report Climate Satisfaction: Share feedback about the space, materials, and overall climate provided for teamwork, ongoing professional learning, and partnerships with families.
Assesses and enhances early childhood education providers through coaching, financial support, and a five-star rating system to help families identify high-quality care.
Aims to align the pedagogies of early learning settings with K–3rd grade instruction to improve student outcomes and engagement.
