Each quarter is broken down into Lesson Progressions aligned to the Georgia Standards of Excellence. Standards are broken down into one or more Performance Based Objectives (PBOs). PBOs are learning objectives that guide student learning in terms of what they are expected to know and do for each lesson progression. All Lesson Progressions follow the Gradual Release of Responsibility Model, four phases moving students from teacher-led instruction to independence with social studies content and skills.
Focused Instruction (teacher models the content/skill)
Guided Instruction (teacher and students discuss the content/skill together)
Collaborative Learning (students practice the content/skill with a partner)
You Do (students perform task independently to demonstrate mastery)
