APPROACH
Theoretical/project-based
This course aims at creating critical analysis skills in relation to elements and processes that define experimental projects in fashion communication. Through the study of aesthetic and visual formulas, the students are invited to question the dynamics of the post-contemporary society, in order to identify strategies and approaches to the new communication interfaces. The goal of this course is the understand the communication techniques used in the fashion world, and the acquisition of a design system that is aimed at the creation of communication strategies to promote fashion products.
The programme consists of one single module, which grants 6 CFA credits.
Successful students will be able to:
Identify the typical communication of Fashion design
Know dynamics and communication tools of the fashion world, and identify their strategies
Develop fashion communication projects that are specific to a field of reference
Work in a varied team in terms of professional roles and cultures
This is a theoretical/project based course.
With reference to the project theme, through front lectures and specific reviews, the students will analyse the available communication tools for the diffusion of fashion images; they will acquire a project methodology that allows studying a given concept, to creatively manipulate as to emphasize those elements that best fit into a communication campaign; they will devise communication projects using the most suitable tools for a given brand: fashion show or presentation, catalogue, adv page, look book, press kit, fashion film, website, digital contents.
This is a theoretical/project based course.
Over the course, the students will carry out didactic activities that are functional to achieving the learning goals, that may vary and, in both modules, may include:
Front lectures
Development of individual projects
Development of group projects
Individual study and research
Laboratories
Exercises and revisions
Field trips
Active engagement of the students
Seminars and visiting professors
At the end of the course, the student will present the entire development process of their creations, and the criteria which have driven their choices over the design and creation process. In order to achieve this, the students can make use of the most fitting research and representation tools.
The course assessment criteria may include the submission of papers, projects and research work.
Further details on the specific tests will be given by the professor.
