| COSCA-LOVE's Events
For The Kids (FTK) is an annual mini-olympics for children with disabilities from various SPED centers all over Luzon organized by the student volunteer arm of Center for Social Concern and Action, COSCA-LOVE. It was founded in 1984, and through the years, it has benefited more than 11,000 children with physical and intellectual challenges, and became one of the biggest institutional social engagement events in DLSU.
EHEMPLO: The Lasallian Immersion Experience is an immersion program that aims to intensify the spirit of Lasallian Mission among the volunteers and partner communities, and to facilitate and animate the process of social consciousness and engagement that would eventually enable the volunteers to create effective and meaningful community integration. More so, it envisions strengthening the culture of volunteerism and making the Lasallian education relevant and responsive to the needs of the society, especially the poor and marginalized.
The Lasallian Mission Week is an annual gathering of partners facilitated by PNDP and COSCA-LOVE where partner communities can spiritually recollect, reconnect with fellow friends in development/community work, and celebrate and showcase their advocacies and social enterprises in the Lasallian community. This aims to keep the mission alive among the partner organizations and community volunteers.
Basic Orientation Seminar is an annual assembly for current and new COSCA-LOVE members to refresh the current volunteers and to introduce the organization to new volunteers as well as make a good interaction and camaraderie among the volunteers and COSCA staff.
DLSU-COSCA continues to make efforts toward the rehabilitation of our esteros and the Manila Bay through activities like coastal clean-up which is in collaboration with the Manila Bay SUNSET Partnership Program Inc. network.
SLSP Catechism and Values Education Program is organized by COSCA-LOVE in partnership with SLSP every academic term to teach catechism and share significant values with preschool students through modules and sessions prepared and facilitated by student volunteers.
Bridging Lives: A DLSU Blood Drive is a bi-annual event organized by COSCA-LOVE in partnership with Philippine Blood Center. This event aims to raise awareness about the importance and implications of Blood Donation and empower the Lasallian community to take part in blood donation. Hundreds of blood bags are collected in each blood donation drive and are donated to those in need.
Lingkod Pamayanan is organized by COSCA-LOVE in partnership with small businesses under PNDP partner communities. It aims to help the communities’ small businesses to adapt to online setting and continue selling their products through establishing their online businesses.
Activity Nights are community building events done every term to recognize the value of affirmation and solidarity in enhancing positive work dynamics and interpersonal relationships within COSCA-LOVE volunteers.
Collarless is a project by COSCA-LOVE that aims to raise awareness on animal welfare, specifically, the conditions in animal pounds and mills, adopting and/or fostering stray and rescued animals, and how everyone can contribute in the rehabilitation of these animals.
Collaboration Projects
SPACE: Understanding Holistic Self-Care is a project by COSCA-LOVE, DLS-RCY, SDFO Paragons, and OCCS student volunteers dedicated to accompanying the holistic health of the Lasallian community and beyond through online platforms.
Various fundraising activities are held every year for COSCA-LOVE’s beneficiaries such as FTK’s partner centers, elderly, and our partner communities through selling of products, organizing concerts and webinars, and other activities.
