A friend of mine was recently injured while he was working out in the comfort of his home. I asked him, “What happened?” He told me that he accidentally stepped on his dumbbell while doing jumping jacks! So what do you think we should do to prevent these kinds of accidents? I have eight protocols prepared for you today to help you prevent injuries and accidents while working out!
Observe Proper Hygiene. I’m pretty sure you don’t want to smell your odor while running! While we work on our bodies, it is essential to keep ourselves clean. In doing so, we will be able to feel good about ourselves. And it has a significant contribution to our mental health and self-confidence!
Do Not Skip Breakfast. There’s always a saying that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Our blood sugar level usually drops down in the morning so a nutritious breakfast can provide you enough energy to get through the day and kickstart your metabolism!
Observe Proper Dress Code. You don’t want to wear something extremely tight to the point where you can’t even breathe while doing your leg raises! You could be interrupting your workout session just because of your clothes! Choose the right clothes to wear to prevent uncomfortable situations and injuries!
Beware Of Training Space. The same reason why my friend got injured, he wasn’t aware of his training space. Clean and organize your workspace. Ensure a clear and easy route to emergency exits and equipment. Always remember that your safety is your responsibility!
Keep Hydrated. It is vital to consume enough water every day to survive. Water helps lubricate our joints, and our organs need water to work properly. It even helps with clearing your skin! So what are you waiting for? Drink that water!
Do Not Overexert Yourself. You should always let your body slowly adjust to the intensity of the activities that you’re doing. Signs of overexertion include dizziness, feeling faint, lightheadedness; nausea; shortness of breath; thirst, and vomiting.
Identify Community Resources In Case of Injury and Emergency. It is essential to have “Barangay Center” contacts prepared because you’ll never know what’s gonna happen next. Doing these preparations might save your life or anyone in your families’ lives in the future.
Always come prepared. You don’t want to go back to your home just because you forgot your running shoes, right? Wasting half an hour of your precious time? I wouldn’t want that. So remember to always be prepared in everything you do.
Now that you know the eight safety and health protocols, What are you waiting for? Let’s all start and get that dream body during the lockdown! But before you do, don’t forget to give our social media a thumbs up and stay tuned for our next blog!
