There are a few ways to request your official transcript as a current student:
Common App or Coalition: If you are applying using one or both of these applications, your school counselor will submit your transcript when you invite them by entering their email address in your application. (If you have an option to choose application platforms, the Common App is strongly recommended over Coalition due to less processing errors) The "School Report" is the cover form to your transcript.
Self-report: Some colleges require you to self-report your grades by copying them directly into your application. It is important that you copy everything exactly how it is written on your transcript, including capitalization, abbreviations, and pluses and minuses for grades. Here is a list of schools that require the "courses and grades" section of the common application. Here is a list of schools that require the SRAR. UIUC and UT Austin also require coursework entry into their own admission portals.
Parchment: If your school is NOT a Common Application Member or you choose to apply with an institutional application, all other transcript requests must be requested through Parchment. Your midyear and final transcripts are sent through Parchment regardless of how you applied.
Please note: Transcripts requests will be processed on or after September 6th of Senior year.
Students do NOT need to request transcripts for colleges using the Common Application or the Coalition Application. School counselors will automatically upload the transcript (referred to as a "Student Report" in Common App) as part of the student record when they are invited by the student in the application platform. Before you “invite” your counselor, be sure that your transcript is correct in Infinite Campus.

Parchment is an online service for colleges, students, and high schools. What does it do? It offers secure sending, receiving, and storing of educational credentials. Parchment will send requests you make to your high school as well and then send the documents required. You can track the process to make sure your transcripts are received.
Parchment is used to send your official transcripts to colleges, scholarships, insurance companies, driver's ed facilities and more. It is a requirement for all sophomores, juniors and seniors to set-up a Parchment account.

Watch your deadlines – We recommend transcript requests are made 2 weeks prior to any deadline. Add more time for deadlines near school breaks
You do not have to complete your application before sending a transcript; the school will hold onto it and connect it with your application and any other materials when you submit them
Parchment now includes a section where you can enter a college and it will give you your ‘admission chances'. Please note, we DO NOT encourage students to use this option as it is unreliable. Please continue to use Maia, as the information is monitored and verified by the academic institutions.
Mid-Semester Grades (or what colleges refer to as Quarter One Grades) will be processed starting on October 28, 2024. If you request grades after October 28, 2024 your request will be processed within 48 hours. You will be blind copied on the email sent so you know DHS has processed your request.
Please use this link to request your grades to be sent. You will need to provide an email address of the college receiving your grade report. Mid-Semester/Quarter One Grades cannot be requested through Parchment and are not sent through Common App. *If you are applying to Duke University, please see your counselor as they want Mid-Semester Grades sent through an Optional Report in Common App.
Colleges typically request these grades when you have applied using the Early Decision (ED) plan. Check your application requirements to see if these grades need to be sent. If a college has not requested your Mid-Semester/Quarter One Grades, you do not need to send them.
If you have any questions, please reach out to the CCRC at dhsccrc@dist113.org.
Seniors, if your colleges request a midyear semester one transcript, you will request it to be sent through Parchment. Common App and Coalition will not be used to send midyear transcripts. First semester/midyear transcripts will be sent starting on January 29, 2025 upon request. If you request a transcript in Parchment prior to January 29, you must select "Hold for Grades". If you request a transcript to be sent on or after January 29, you would select "Send Now".
Be sure to check the requirements which can be found on college websites on the admissions page, the Common App or Coalition websites. NOTE: Not all colleges will require a midyear transcript to be sent. If you have any questions about whether or not your college needs a midyear transcript, come to the CCRC.
Specific College Requirements:
Georgetown University: Add your counselor's name and email address to your Recommendations Request form, which is one of the additional required application forms. Counselors will be emailed a unique link to securely submit a midyear transcript.
Lehigh University: Although Lehigh is not listed as a college recipient in Parchment, you can send a transcript in Parchment to the email address: admissions@lehigh.edu.

The Self-Reported Academic Record (SRAR) and the Courses & Grades section in the Common Application both allow students to self-report their academic achievements, but they have different formats and requirements. The SRAR is a separate, comprehensive document that certain colleges require applicants to complete directly on their portals; it often requires detailed entries of every course taken, along with final grades, by semester or year. The Courses & Grades section on the Common Application, however, is integrated directly into the Common App and is used by select colleges, allowing applicants to enter course titles, grades, and credits, though usually in a more condensed format. While both help admissions teams review academic performance without needing an official transcript, students should confirm which method is required by each school, as requirements vary.
Some universities, including UIUC and UT Austin, require students to self-report their courses and grades but use their own application portals for this process. This means students applying to these schools must be ready to complete academic information within each institution’s platform, even if they’ve already filled out similar sections in the Common App or SRAR. Each platform may have specific formatting or data entry rules, so it’s essential to carefully follow instructions on each school’s portal to ensure all academic records are accurately represented.
The SRAR are student-submitted transcripts of your high school coursework and academic record. The student enters the courses and associated grades that you have completed or will be completing into the system, and it is transmitted electronically to the colleges who request it. Since accuracy is critical, please have an electronic version of your official grade report or an official high school transcript to reference as you are completing these forms. Some schools require you to submit this Self-Reported Academic Record after you submit your application for admission. Therefore be sure to visit the college website and understand what is required for each school that may be requiring additional steps for application completion.
Colleges & Universities that Require the SRAR for Self-Reported Academic Record
To complete the Courses & Grades section on the Common Application, mirror your transcript from DHS by entering semester grades as they appear on your records. While the system accommodates high schools with different grading systems, DHS does not have a "Final Grade" column on transcripts, so only input semester grades in each course entry. Follow your transcript exactly to ensure consistency, as accuracy in representing your grades will make this process straightforward and align with DHS’s grading structure.
Do all Common App colleges use the Courses & Grades section? No. Some colleges require that you complete the Courses and Grades section of the Common App. If your college is not on this list, you do not need to complete the Courses and Grades section.
Schools that Require the Common Application Courses and Grades Section
University of Illinois:
The University of Illinois, like many other institutions, has its own process for handling academic records during the admission process. Instead of relying on a third-party service like the Self-Reported Academic Record (SRAR), the University of Illinois requires applicants to self-report their academic information directly through their own myillini application portal.
Categorizing some classes can get confusing - what happens if student categorize classes into the wrong category? The SRAR at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign focuses on core academic courses. Social Science classes are the most common in causing confusion, whereas English, Math, Science and Languages other than English tend to be standard. Students should select the category that they think best fits the content of the class. If it is unclear, they will send the SRAR back to the student with additional instructions and/or clarifying questions.
Top 10 SRAR Recommendations from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.
The SRAR typically takes about 30-40 minutes to complete.
Make sure students have an unofficial transcript in hand when completing the SRAR; do not go from memory!
Students can acquire an unofficial trancript through parchment or infinite campus.
Students should take the time to enter all courses and grades accurately (including subject areas; social sciences seem to be missed the most).
They need to see your complete senior year course plan, including second semester.
You can submit the SRAR even if you do not have senior year grades.
Dual Credit/college courses should only be entered under the college record; should not be entered in the high school section; full course titles should be used, not the rubric/number of the college course.
Make sure course types (honors, advanced, AP) are entered accurately.
DHS does NOT have a block schedule.
