Discover Corps guides are the face of Discover Corps in each of the destinations that we visit. In fact, many of the travelers that join our groups associate our guides most strongly with the Discover Corps Brand (more than our full-time staff here in the office!). This makes complete sense as San Diego Headquarters simply handles logistics while the guides are at the front-end of the entire experience. A guide will make or break an experience as well as determine whether a true “Discover Corps Experience” is delivered.
Please ensure proper Discover Corps branding during the trip. Branding takes the following forms:
● DC Shirts - Guides will be provided with Discover Corps branded collared shirts. We expect guides to where these at least 2 days during the trip. Once on the first day of the trip and once during the remainder of the trip.
● DC Vehicle Magnet - DC will provide guides with vehicle magnets to ensure that the vehicle is properly branded. If you have yet to receive a magnet, please ensure that a printed Discover Corps logo is in the window so our travelers can easily identify the van.
● DC Welcome Sign - When travelers arrive at the airport, guides should be holding a welcome sign with the Discover Corps logo on it. This is what we tell travelers to look for when they arrive and may cause concern if they do not see this.
● Orientation - The orientation is the perfect time to set the stage and introduce Discover Corps. All trips should include a brief history of the organization (see the history section of this document) as well as a formal overview of our brand and a welcome to our VIP alumni.
***Important Note*** - We have had issues in the past with the pronunciation of the Discover Corps name. You pronounce this as “Discover Core” - Not “Discovery Corps” or “Discover Corp - emphasis on the “P”.
