Families
Discover Corps is a family travel company. This is who we market our trips to, design our itineraries around and who tends to enjoy our trips most. We get a range of family types including nuclear families, intergenerational, mother/daughter, father/son, etc. We also see family travel as fitting perfectly into the programs that we run. What better way to instill global citizenship and values of service into your children than this type of travel?
Discover Corps requires a minimum age of 8 for a majority of our trips. If families are interested in joining with younger children, we will typically create a private departure for the family so as not to disrupt other travelers in the group.
Intergenerational
Intergenerational groups are similar to family groups but typically entail different generations of the family. This is a growing market of travel as grandparents aim to leave behind a legacy with their children and grandchildren. Travel represents the ultimate gift in this respect. Intergenerational groups tend to be larger groups and, often, we run these groups as private departures with custom elements for the families.
Baby Boomers/Retirees
Baby boomers are a growing subsect of Discover Corps travelers. As more and more Americans retire, they are setting out to explore the world, often in a meaningful way. Typically, baby boomers travel as couples but also may bring along other family members.
Solo Travelers
Discover Corps welcomes solo travelers on all of our trips. Solo travelers join Discover Corps as a way to meet other like-minded travelers, travel with a group of people & take in the expertise of a guided journey. Additionally, being in a group helps alleviate any concerns that come up with the safety of solo travel, especially for solo female travelers.
Discover Corps charges a single-room supplement for solo travelers unless they opt to share a room with another solo traveler of the same gender. Additionally, we offer certain departures for a select number of trips that are scheduled as “Solo Traveler Savings” departures. Solo travelers on these dates do not need to pay the single room supplement.
Alumni
Alumni are the VIPs of Discover Corps. Those who return to travel with us believe in our promise to the planet and the communities we serve. Additionally, they are believers in the unique value a vacation with purpose experience offers. The challenge and privilege of serving alumni clientele is to continuously top each exceptional experience they have that keeps them coming back. We like to reward those who travel with us again and again. Alumni receive a $250 discount on their next trip. Alumni are also eligible to participate in the Corps Referral Program, where they (and the person they refer!) can each earn $250 in travel credit. There is no limit to how many people an alumni can refer, making it possible for one of their future trips to be free.
Women’s Only Trips
Discover Corps offers specific trip dates exclusively for female travelers looking to share the experience with other like-minded women. This option is popular amongst female solo travelers as well as women traveling with their sisters, mothers, daughters, partners, and friends.
PwC Employees
For those trips that are part of the PriceWaterHouseCooper (PwC) partnership, there will be employees of PwC integrated into the groups as well. There will be no changes to the itinerary and we expect that PwC employees will fit in well to this type of travel. However, we do expect a majority of them to be solo travelers in their 30s/40s. They may also travel with their significant others or families.
