From an early age, Lerma Julian showed exceptional talent and interest in art. Prior to becoming a full-time visual artist, she worked as a theater actor at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) where she honed her skills in pantomime, oratorical declamation, poetry, monologue, and interpretative dance.
Transitioning into the world of visual arts was seamless for Ms. Julian. She aspired not only to create art but also to build bridges between artists and collectors. This vision led her to establish Life 'n Arts Gallery, a vibrant art hub offering consignment, exhibition, and exposure opportunities for artists, and to organize the inaugural Laguna Art Fair in 2022, defying odds to create a platform for artists and collectors in the region. The success of the fair not only boosted art sales but also established a new cultural landscape in Laguna.
In recognition of her outstanding contributions, Lerma was awarded the Outstanding Art Entrepreneur and Patron of Filipino Heritage and the Heroic Filipino Humanitarian Achiever, Woman of the World Certified Member at the Heroic Filipino Achievers Award in May 2023. This prestigious award gala, organized by the World Council of Excellence International, honored Lerma's humanitarian efforts and her commitment to promoting Philippine arts. Despite these accolades, Lerma sees them as just the beginning of her journey to further promote Philippine arts. Her passion, dedication, and vision continue to inspire others, leaving a lasting impact on the arts community.
Ms. Julian was born on 8 November 1971 in Quezon City, Philippines.
