Whatever the housing type you chose, the process of adaptation to the environment will constitute part of your cultural and learning experience in Spain. Even though the differences in terms of meals or living habits might pose some difficulties in the beginning, you should make an effort to overcome them. This will help you not only to understand the Spanish culture much better, but also to better enjoy your stay.
The name of the person in charge of providing housing to CIDE Program students is Ana Elorduy, from Vivir Bilbao. For questions and issues regarding housing, please contact her directly either at the CIDE Office or by e-mail (vivirbilbao@gmail.com).
Please remember you should bring the address and phone number of your housing with you at all times.
If you are going to travel on a weekend, please let them know at your housing (reception desk if you are staying at the dorms).
IMPORTANT FOR STUDENTS LIVING WITH A HOST FAMILY:
- Please notify them in advance whenever you are not going home for a meal.
- Please remember you always need to ask your family before inviting a friend home.
- Please be considerate about the time you spend in the bathroom, and about the use of water and power.
- You need to take good care of the apartment keys your host family will provide you with. If you lose them or they get stolen, you will be held responsible and will need to cover any expense derived from this circumstance.
