The Scout Movement is a worldwide youth movement employing the Scout method, a program of informal education with an emphasis on practical outdoor activities, including camping, woodcraft, aquatics, hiking, backpacking, and sports.
The Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) is a public corporation with the purpose of promoting the ability of boys to do useful things for themselves and others, to train them in scoutcraft, and to teach them patriotism, courage, self-reliance, and kindred virtues, using the methods which are in common use by boy scouts.
The Rover scouting movement within the institution is making significant strides, marked by continuous growth and prosperity. This progress can be attributed to the concerted efforts of the institution's circle manager and rover staff, who have been at the forefront of organizing various activities. Notably, the institution achieved a major milestone when the rover vigil succeeded in enlisting every senior high school boy as an official member of the rover scouting movement. Moreover, Lipa City Science's rover scouting movement has gained recognition from the Lipa City Council for being ranked 1st in the Public Secondary - SHS Scouting District for achieving 100% of the school potential in the 2023 membership campaign.
The institution's rover staff are committed to developing the skills of every rover scout through conducting various activities such as basic training courses on rescuing and first aiding, youth forums, and other activities. These initiatives are designed to enhance the capabilities of every rover scout in the institution. Alongside skill development, the Lipa City Science rover scouting movement places emphasis on instilling important values, promoting camaraderie, encouraging personal growth, and building character among its members.
This activity aims to raise awareness to different issues and improve initiatives for decision-making skills as a scout. Lead by the officers of the BSP, this is an online activity wherein scouts would be able to exchange information and views regarding the topic at hand.
This activity is held to encourage the students to raise the awareness for energy consumption and effects on the environment. This activity symbolizes their commitment to the planet. The officers will encourage the scholars to participate in joining in the Earth Hour, the staff will provide support to the SSG that will make a frame with a caption that show the participation of the scholars on the said event.
ROVER VIGIL AND INVESTITURE
Two significant rites in the scouting movement, the Rover Vigil and Investiture, mark the progression of scouts into more authoritative positions within the group.
For Rover Scouts who are prepared to assume more responsibility within the scouting community, the Rover Vigil ceremony serves as a rite of passage. The Rover Scout receives a Rover Crew neckerchief as a symbol of their new role and is introduced into a further degree of community involvement and dedication during this event.
The ceremony that officially welcomes new scouts into the movement is called an investiture, on the other hand. As they commit to the organization's beliefs and take their first steps toward becoming active members of their local scout troop, this ceremony is a crucial time for new scouts.
Both ceremonies are rich in tradition and mark important turning points in the lives of young people who are committed to giving back to their communities and upholding the Scout Oath and Law.
Boys Scout of the Philippines Investiture
The Boy Scouts of the Philippines investiture ceremony is a formal event where new members are officially admitted to the organization. They recite the Scout Oath and Law, receive their Scout Neckerchief, and commit to upholding the organization's values. The ceremony concludes with a message from the Scoutmaster, encouraging the new scouts to live by the organization's principles.
