ABSTRACT
The study investigated the efficacy of incorporating contextualized video lessons in Science 6 to enhance the academic performance of Grade 6-Venus pupils at Burgos Central School. It employed a mixed-methods approach, utilizing a quasi-experimental research design with pre- and post-test scores, classroom observations, and learner feedback to evaluate the impact of the intervention. This design allowed for a comparison of outcomes before and after the use of the intervention. A single group received contextualized video lessons. Results indicated a significant improvement in the academic performance of the intervention group. Learners from Grade 6-Venus also demonstrated an increased engagement and better comprehension of scientific concepts related to the targeted competencies. The study suggested that integrating multimedia resources tailored to learners' contextual backgrounds could effectively enhance their learning outcomes in Science. Findings supported the idea that using contextualized video lessons during the third quarter was an effective strategy for improving performance in Science 6. Recommendations for future implementation and further research were also provided to explore and optimize the use of this intervention in other educational settings.
