ABSTRACT
This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Project PA0.IR (Paragraph Appraisal in Remediation) as an intervention to improve the writing skills of Grade 3 pupils. Using a one-group pretest-posttest design, a total of 20 pupils from Anao-Kiling Elementary School participated in the study. Data were analyzed using paired sample t-tests, Cohen’s d, mean scores, and standard deviations to determine the intervention’s impact. Results showed a statistically significant improvement in writing performance after the implementation of Project PAIR, with a large effect size indicating a substantial positive impact on the pupils’ ability to write alternative story endings. The findings suggest that Project PAIR is an effective remedial strategy for enhancing early writing skills. The researcher recommends further development of instructional materials, additional related studies, and the wider adoption of Project PAIR as a resource to support writing skill development.
