ABSTRACT
This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the intervention Project MAICOTSZ (Making Intervention Using Classroom Online Teaching Strategies Through Zoom) in improving the performance of Grade 11 ABM students in understanding lessons on aerobics and bone and muscle-strengthening exercises. Specifically, it sought to evaluate the impact of problem-based learning and brainstorming strategies delivered via Zoom as part of the intervention. A one-group pretest-posttest pre-experimental design was employed, involving 31 students from Salinungan National High School, Division of Isabela. A teacher-made test was used to assess student understanding before and after the implementation of the intervention. The findings revealed a significant improvement in the learners’ performance. Additionally, MAICOTSZ reflects a large effect size, affirming the strong impact of the intervention. These results suggest that Project MAICOTSZ was highly effective in enhancing students' comprehension of the target topics. In conclusion, integrating problem-based learning and brainstorming strategies through digital platforms like Zoom can significantly boost student outcomes in physical education. It is recommended that this intervention be adopted and scaled for use in similar learning contexts to promote engagement and conceptual understanding, particularly in remote or blended learning environments.
